The Burgundy 2023 en primeur campaign is due to begin in early 2025. We are now inviting customers to register interest and join our dedicated offers list for the campaign.
The latest 2023 vintage is another sacred beast for Burgundy lovers, in that it promises breathtaking quality, and (whisper it) quantity. Our view, after spending two weeks of extensive tasting in the region, is that it’s one of the most pleasurable young vintages we have ever encountered.
Stylistically, it’s ‘Burgundian’ to its core, though paradoxically this was somewhat unexpected on paper, as the vintage will go down as one of the warmest on record. Across the appellations there is great consistency and furthermore, we’re noticing that the quality gulf between the established order and those ‘off-the-beaten-track’ areas is narrowing. There is great wine to be had even at the Bourgogne or village level, making this another great vintage to discover a new grower or new wines. Ultimately, the wines are set to be some of the most promising of recent years, and are forged with a wonderful combination of energy, generosity and freshness.

What is meant by 'En Primeur'?
It means reserving top vintages before they are bottled. By paying an instalment ‘up front’, you reserve wine while it is still in the barrel, before the wines are shipped to the UK during the course of 2025 and early 2026.
How does payment work?
Now you need only pay the ‘cellar door’ price. Prior to delivery, we will invoice you for the second instalment (duty - around £2.67 a bottle at today’s prices) plus VAT on the total. Delivery (currently £7.99) is also applicable, unless you are a member of Unlimited. Alternatively, you can keep your case stored In Bond or Duty Paid in our state of the art temperature- and humidity-controlled customer storage facility (currently £12.60 per case per year).
The advantages of 'En Primeur' buying
Demand for fine wines is always high as there simply isn’t enough to go around. En Primeur guarantees you an allocation of the finest wines at opening prices - providing you are quick!
Reservation certificates
Once we receive your order we will send you a Reservation Certificate to your customer address. If the wines you have chosen are sold out we’ll contact you to advise which are still available.
